2016 Philippine Tourism Statistical Classification System
The 2016 Philippine Tourism Statistical Classification System (PTSCS) is a detailed classification of tourism characteristic products and industries. The statistical classification system serves as reference for the compilation of tourism statistics and satellite accounts. The 2016 PTSCS is the latest version of classification, which is based on the 2008 International Recommendations for Tourism Statistics (IRTS) and existing classifications in the country, such as the 2009 Philippine Standard Industrial Classification (PSIC) and 2002 Philippine Central Product Classification (PCPC). The 2008 IRTS provides the main concepts, definitions, and classifications for a standard measurement of tourism. The first version is the 2005 PTSCS, which provides the recommended list of tourism characteristics activities, products and durable goods and based on 1994 PSIC. The 2005 PTSCS was updated considering the recommendations of 2008 IRTS and the latest version of PSIC.
